There is much in the world that inspires me. From the Rocky Mountains to the walled cities of Italy to my own backyard. Taking that inspiration. Conveying the excitement and joy I find. Sharing these moments with others is what drives me to paint.
Oil paint, as a medium, has a unique beauty all its own. It’s the medium that found me. As a student of Max Ginburg’s at the School of Visual Arts in New York, I discovered the possibility of what oil painting could be. After getting my undergraduate degree, I continued my studies with Max and Olrich Teply at the Art Students League in New York. Later, after moving to Longmont, I found a new mentor for landscape oil painting in Jake Gaedtke.
I am currently exploring recent trips to Italy and Pennsylvania, in addition to the inspiring landscapes here in Colorado.
